I've been professionally diagnosed with AS.

These are my test reults:

Your Aspie score: 153 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 42 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

RE: The Asperger Quiz Link
Many if not most NT's have Asperger traits in them. I think with a NT score of 123 out of 200 is just showing a typical NT with Asperger traits.

thanks for that..these traits though have caused so much grief and trauma in growing up and well into my adult life...I guess I'm searching for reasons for my social ineptitude et al....

RE: The Asperger Quiz Link
As a typical Asperger I often interupt people as I haven't a glue, unable to read their body language or tone of voice, when it's OK for me to have my say.

Peoples feelings do not registar with me so I often upset others. Only when they are "hitting me over the head with a wooden club" as it were do I realize that I have hurt them. I am not in tune, my feelings do not follow, co-inside with others.

My wife is always getting the TV remote trying to switch my voice off. My not stop talking, I have no Off button. I either speak very loudly or so quietly that no one hears, nothing in between.

My emotions are either cold or going like a rocket. The change from cold to the rocket is literally less than 1 second, as though some one has switched my emotions on like a light.

I think out loud.

I don't even understand the phenomenon of group behaviour, follow my leader.

I have an extremly high sense of social moral justice.

Honest to the point of brutality. I don't hide anything or ever have a hidden pretence.

I need perfect silence when I need to concentrate. Certain every day sounds are so intense to me, I'm unable to shut them out.

These are Asperger traits. I was wondering Lee, do you have any of the above??

RE: The Asperger Quiz Link
Lee - Have you thought about going to your local library. They often have books on Asperger's

If you are thinking of buying a book or two, the two I would recommend are:

1). Asperger's Syndrome by Tony Attwood, Published by JKP.
2). 300 Questions Answered. Asperger's Disorder. In the USA they call Asperger's a Disorder rather than Syndrome which I find is rather distasteful. As they say, use this book like a reference book to keep going back to time and time again, which I do.
