RE: Help? Want advice? School, college, uni or work?
i thibnk aspergers doesnt stop you from doing anything it is just a concentration of certain skills that others do not have for example i ahe incredible patience and perserverance and the ability to follow clear instructions. This will help you in whatever you choose to do. I hasve completed university and a postgraduate and so it is possible to go to university with aspergers but ultimately the choice is up to you.

RE: Help? Want advice? School, college, uni or work?
Hi, dont know if this is posted in right place but here goes.
My son & self have just found out that the job centres have a Disability employment advisor who can help you to find work/training, attend interviews with you, speak to prospective employers about your needs in the workplace ect... My son is getting a lot of help from them at the moment. Thing is though we didnt see this service advertised in the job center, we actually come across it while trawling through the job sites looking for help with employment. |

I am wanting to research colleges either in the US or Australia that may be more accommodating for students with Aspergers. Does anyone have any recommendations?

But if you wan to do this course so fist of all you have to take some meeting in childcare college in your home town I think it is a best way for that. They can give you fully information about how to register to the form. |

RE: Help? Want advice? School, college, uni or work?
Just remember if you are planning to attend uni that most unis especially Salford ,have a diabilities system that is pre occupied with sponging national funding for disable students ,NOT helping with asd diagnosis, they love labelling everyone dyslexia. I had three assesments ,all of them in unsuitable cramped offices, and on one occasion the assesor had to ask the office staff to stop clowning around as she was doing the assesment. It really is crap and you should not expect help(despite all the lies in the prospectus) any real practical help.
