AS or personality?
Hello there,
New around here. Not sure if I have Aspergers, or if I am just anti-social and good at remembering birthday dates and random trivia, only have specific interests including art and gutted if I am unable to spend time doing this, concentration all over the place, and not very good at relationships. Finally took the aspergers quiz...aspergers score 137 out of 200, NT score 63 out of 200. So, hoping to learn a bit more, and perhaps find try and find out if this is really part of me, or is this how my personality is? Any advice would be welcomed. Sandy sandy |

RE: AS or personality?
It's certainly food for thought. There are other traits in my personality that sometimes are frustrating, its as if all of the words I would like to say never express the depth or mass of how I am really feeling to others. Definitely unconventional, I feel as if I don't fit in, although I don't feel compelled to 'fit in'. Will try the quiz again in the not too distant future, wonder if my dear old personality will have changed by then?!! In the meantime I will try and learn to appreciate one's quirks...

RE: AS or personality?
About 10 years ago someone suggested I had AS. I looked it up and thought "what a load of rubbish." I saw the whole idea of AS as being made up. A label for people who have a mind of their own and will not hesitate to stand up for themselves. A few weeks ago a doctor suggested I had it and so I have read a couple of books. I realize that maybe in the last 10 years I have been in denial about AS. Now I think it is what I have and am seeking diagnosis. But often I like to think that really it is just me being me. It is my personality. If someone wants to give it a name then fine. However, I understand the issues with it regarding social interaction.
