That's a great way to look at it, and indeed a very positive outlook for those affected.

Thank you for your input here.

You're welcome, Gareth. Nitro, I apologise for my personal attack on you. It always makes me angry to be told that my Autism is some kind of defect, but that's no excuse.

Cool RE: Gareth Roberts meets Gordon Brown MP
I feel that the award is very well deserved and represents another small step towards a greater knowledge and hopefully acceptance of people with AS. No matter who gives the award. Let's face it, there are few places where people can get advice or information on this subject where no one is trying to sell you anything. Gareth has provided a site that is easy to use and works well. I for one am grateful that he gives his time so freely.

RE: Gareth Roberts meets Gordon Brown MP
Thank you for the comments xsurfer, it's rewarding to know that the website and forum has been valuable. I sure enjoy coming along and reading over what everyone else has to say.

I know many people feel that this award was undeserved but at the end of the day I think from my perspective it's more about positively promoting Aspergers / Autism than trying to be some sort of a celebrity. This website and my time is completely free for everyone and I genuinely have an interest in continuing to ensure others have a place to share their experiences and look at the positive aspects. In this day in age we should all be unique and no one should 'have' to aspire to be so-called 'normal'.

@philipo - I actually think it's good that Gordon Brown had taken time to look at this website, politics aside he seemed quite interested and appeared to genuinely care.
