I have Asperger's Syndrome, am married with a young son.
The Asperger Couple's Workbook, published just under a year ago is by far the best practical advice book for couple's that I've read. It is written in simple to read sections where one is able to dip into and out of and refer back to time and time again. It gives practical easy to follow advice and activities to bridge the chasm of the dysfunctional communication that lies at the heart between the Asperger and their NT spouse. Packed full of strategies and pathways that will ease the conflict and stress points and enable the relationship to improve. If one is looking for a self help book or a book on improving a NT/AS marriage/long term relationship then this is the book. The only caveat I make is that it is important to first understand what the basic fundamentals of Asperger's is, how Asperger characteristics manifest itself before getting down to the nitty-gritty of improving and developing a NT/AS marriage. The books title suggests that it is intended for couple's only, which would be a great shame as I personally recommend this book for all but the very youngest age group, the information contained there in is that good, helpful and important and can easily be transferred and interchanged to a parent/child relationship. I thoroughly recommend this book, it's worth every penny, the book is as good as that.
