As hannah and Jerry.its not that he has'nt feelings for his family its just that he can't express them immediatley and instabtly like most. You could try family routines like one weekend night all sit as a family and wacth a film or have a half hour,homework/feeling times .best times are after dinner/washing up.the digesting food slows them down and they are in a far more relaxed state, without being aware of it the 'pattern' will fix into him a bit .it seems that the repetitive patterns help stabilise the sufferer.i think people mix and confuse 'obssesional behaiour/ocd and the NEED for patterns.it may be that without patterns the aspies develop ocd and that with established patterns in place the opertunity for cognition/awareness/empathy is greatly increased.i remember at school feeeling that many times in lessons I would fall behind after 10 minutes unless the subject was being taught in an ENGAGING manner.most teachers hav'nt the time to be passionate about hteir subjects and were taaught to be o level wonders mainly by rota/regurgitation.repeating the right answers is'nt education its called mimickry but the whole education system is reliant on it as the standards and facilities have been well dumbed down in the last 30 years.unis are mostly the same.
