Here's a poem I wrote a while ago when inspiration struck.
“What am I?” Asks the wind. The grass whispers: “You are the past, my child,’ and the trees voice their agreement. The moon cries: “No, ‘tis not true my child!” But the night sky does not answer. “You are the present, my child,” murmurs the river, And the reeds nod in accordance. The moon cries: “No, ‘tis naught but lies my child!” But the night sky does not reply. The damp earth shouts: “You are the present, my child,” And the rocks stand up in solidarity. The moon cries: “No, ‘tis surely a falsehood, my child!” But the night sky does not react. “Then what?” Asks the wind. The moon cries: “You are all three, my child! You are past! You are present! You are future! You are howl of wolf and twitter of bird! You are roar of waterfall and babble of brook! You are truth! You are lie! You are warmth of summer! You are cold of winter! But most importantly, my child,” Cries the moon once more, “You are all you want to be!” And the night sky smiled silently, for it was true. |

I spy an error.
The second ‘present’ is wrong. It should be ‘future’. |

RE: A poem, by me
I spotted the same thing as Mr Flibble. That said, I think it's an excellent piece of prose.
