Help
I need help, I dont know what to do, my son's behaviour seems to be deteriorating each day. I feel like I'm loosing him, he isn't the same child anymore, he hardly talks to me, everything seems to be going downhill. I dunno what to do, I want to help him but I dont know how.

RE: Help
sorry, I missed this post earlier Hannah, so hope things are better for you now! Is there any particular inncident that might have triggered this "deteriorating" you think? Maybe it could be that youre just getting run down yourself and so everything feels like its running away from you and you cant sort of see a way out. Certainly been there ourselves a few times! Did you get hold of any of the books mentioned before like Tony Attwoods or Brenda Boyds as they may shed some light on possible stratergies that may help? I guess-aside from trying to get some respite for yourself so that you feel better able to proceed-you need to try and figure out the things that trigger your son's behaviour, the things (often negligible to us ns types) that can lead to him getting stressed out and, on the flip side, the things that calm him down and make him feel secure and happy. Routines are often critical here and only really small changes can upset them. I know we have gone through this and you have to step back and think, well, do we really need to change such and such a routine in the first place or, if we do, how can we ease this change in? Never easy, not least because they cant verbalize their fears/emotions to you easily at that age.Anyhow, sorry to ramble or teach you to "suck eggs" and hope things are getting better for you
