I personally develop a cold prickly and my mind goes blank whenever I have to go buy some shoes, but then 90% of men feel the same.

But, ofcourse, no-one here would *ever* use the excuse that they are have AS to avoid doing the shopping would they?

Oh I most certainly would..... Oh I most certainly would.....

I don't mind going.... just so long as I don't have to talk to people... ask where things are...

If I can just go in and see what I want that's ok...

I get on... and I do the shopping... but I do find it stressful...

RE: shopping
Yes, I hate talking to people in shops too. In fact, I have sometimes stopped going to shops when the staff start to get to know me and start saying "hello"...

I can ask where things are, but I have to take a deep breath first.

RE: shopping
My wife has never understood why when its my turn to shop i just make a list of what we need, go and buy it, come home. I dont shop around or compare prices, if its on the list and i have found it, then i buy it.
and go home as soon as possible.

RE: shopping
I hate shopping so much I avoid it especially when its going to be busy. I have never enjoyed shopping. If I have to do some shopping I usually go alone and early in the day and do it as quickly as possible. The worst for me is having to try things on because I need to buy new clothes. I often get so despondent if I don't find something i like straight away that I abandon the task and go home without anything.

It may help to focus on the signs, prices, and special offers on things which you want to buy anyway. The people are, mostly, just moving obstacles to be navigated around moderately quickly.

Basically, not a problem (for me).

Like Mr Flibble, I can also get around moving obstacles pretty quickly. And I'm a cripple...

Men certainly don't corner the market when it comes to hating shopping: I loathe it! In every sense of the word and in every conceivable context of the event. Too much of everything: lights, sounds, people and most of all choices. I can just about handle the corner shop for a newspaper or possibly a loaf of bread at the bakery, but for the most part all I can say is... hooray for the internet and online shopping! Aspie roadblocks can usually be navigated!
